School Resource Officers

  • What is a School Resource Officer (SRO)?
  • SRO Officers

The local Police Department and the School District work in a joint cooperative effort to provide a safe and healthy school environment for the students, staff, and visitors. The School Resource Officers (SRO), who are law enforcement officers, law-related counselors, and educators serve as a resource to staff, students, and parents regarding many areas of concern.

The SRO is a Police Officer who has been assigned to the SRO program after application for the position and completion of a series of interviews with Police Dept. and school administrators. All Londonderry Police School Resource Officers receive special training and complete several levels of certification with the National Association of School Resource Officers. You may find the School Resource Officer involved in the school community as a coach, involved in a club, and attending student functions and sporting events.
