Dear Parents,
A new school year is upon us! As we begin the 2010/2011 school year, we want to take the opportunity to welcome our North School families. For some, it is their first time at North School, and for others it is their last year. It is our belief that a quality education can be achieved through high expectations of student performance and behaviors. We are very proud of our students and the staff who enthusiastically are committed to providing the best education possible for the students of North School. You are your child’s first teacher; we embrace you as partners in your child’s education. With your assistance, we assure you that we will do our best to create a partnership, which will provide the best opportunity for social, emotional and academic growth.
We have some new faces at North School. Mrs. Jocelyn Duragano and Mrs. Anna Cook are filling the shoes of Mrs. Webster and Mrs. Peer, as the nurses at North School. Mrs. Rebecca Harris replaces Mrs. Mary Beth Donovan-Olson as our Art Teacher. Mrs. Jill Connors will be the new Assistant Principal. All four will be an incredible asset to North School.
On Wednesday, August 25th, first grade students are invited to meet their first grade teacher. Their teachers will be anxiously awaiting their arrival at 1:30.
Children, who are new to the school, are also welcome to come at that time.
Thursday, August 26 is the first day of school. The school day begins at 8:50AM and ends at 3:05PM. As always, we encourage you to allow your child to ride the bus, even on the first day of school.
Please note the Open House dates and times below. We look forward to meeting you:
September 1st Grades 1, 2, 3 7:00
September 15th Grades 4 and 5 7:00
While this is my 17th year at North School, it is my first year as Principal. The transition from Assistant Principal to Principal has been a smooth one…thanks to my great predecessor! Mr. Zacchilli will be missed, but I am confident that Mrs. Connors will join with the staff and me to insure that your child thrives in a positive learning environment.
We hope you join us as we look forward to a great year.
Sincerely,
Mary K. Coltin
