Welcome to the web page for Ms. Balon-Frost's third grade. This page will give you some basic information that you may find helpful to aquaint you with our classroom.
Supplies Students will need a one inch loose leaf binder with inside pockets on both covers. This will serve as their homework binder. They will not need paper, just the binder. Classrooom supplies such as alcohol wipes and soft tissues are always welcome. Thank you.

Our weekly schedule includes:
Math Enrichment on Monday.
Music on Tuesday at 10:25-11:15am.
Physical Education on Wednesday at 10:25-11:15m. Remember to bring your water bottle and sneakers.
Art on Friday at 10:25-11:15 am.
Third Graders will be eating lunch at 12:40. This makes for a very long morning, so we will have a snack break around 10:10. We'd love to celebrate your child's birthday. You are welcome to send in cupcakes, etc. on their special day.
On Friday your child will come home with a list of words to study for the next week. All students will be tested on all twenty words. Spelling tests will be given on Friday, unless otherwise noted. Students will also come home each week with a list of reading vocabulary words. Students should review these words during the week to make sure they understand the meanings. They will be quizzed on the meanings, not the spelling of these words.
Math
ChapterSix develops multiplication concepts and strategies for learning basic multiplication facts with 3,4,6,7, and 8 as factors, and introduces the associative property. Students will be expected to know their multiplication facts through (5x10) at an automatic level for this trimester. Please work on these at home.
