Welcome to Mrs. Joyce's kindergarten web page.  If you wish to contact me at Moose Hill, I can be reached at 437-5855 ext. 7214, mjoyce@londonderry.org  or you can send a note in your child's folder and I will get back to you as soon as possible.  

Our daily schedule consists of free choice, Circle Time, literacy centers, snack, recess and work stations which include language arts, math and handwriting.  We visit the library on Fridays. 

I am looking forward to establishing the best possible learning environment for your child.  With teamwork and cooperation between parents, teachers and students, we will have a terrific year!

 WELCOME!

After a wonderful summer vacation, I am excited to start a new school year and meet my students!   My goal is to make your child's school experience fun and educational.  To achieve this, you and I need to work together so feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.  You will receive weekly newsletters to keep you informed about classroom activities.

Lisa Muse is my teaching assistant for both sessions.  She  brings enthusiasm and creativity to the classroom.  Many other specialists will be in and out of our classroom working with children.  These include speech therapists, occupational therapists, reading teachers and the school nurse.

 

BACKPACKS & FOLDERS

Each child should have a backpack that's large enough to carry a snack, library books, projects and a folder.  The folder that is provided should be checked every day for notices and schoolwork. Please do not send pencils, crayons, markers or scissors to school as these materials will be provided in the classroom.

SNACKS

Please send in a small healthy snack and drink for your child each day.  It should be something that your child can open independently.

BIRTHDAYS

Moose Hill no longer celebrates birthdays with snacks.  Instead, the birthday child receives a crown, a special sticker and a book.  He/she also picks a buddy to walk down to the office to get a certificate and new pencil.   Summer birthdays will be celebrated in June.

RECESS

 We are back to going out to recess every day if possible so please dress your child appropriately.

IMPORTANT DATES

April 22-26-  Spring vacation

Friday, May 10th- Class pictures.  SMILE!!

May 21st- Little Lancer Day- a field trip to the high school

May 22nd- Open House for next year's Kindergartners.  6:30 - 8:00pm

Thursday, May 23rd- First Grade Visitations- We have a field trip to visit the elementary schools.  

May 27th- Memorial Day

Friday, June 7th- Kindergarten Carnival Day.  We need LOTS of volunteers on this day to make it a HUGE success for the children.

Wednesday, June 13th- End of the Year Celebration for Rooms 14, 15 & 16.

Our tentative last day of kindergarten is Thursday, June 20th for PM classes and JFriday, une 21st for AM classes.  This is barring any additional snow days.
