General Information
All 7th grade students will be enrolled in language arts, social studies, science and mathematics for a full year.
Students, with the approval of their 6th grade language arts teacher, may choose to study either French or Spanish for a full year.
Those who do not choose to study a foreign language will be enrolled in a developmental or individualized, development reading program which will be geared to a variety of reading levels and skills. Reading and language arts teachers work cooperatively to coordinate materials and assignments.
Students will also participate in a series of exploratory courses in the areas of family and consumer science, health, art, and intermediate computers. These courses will meet for one quarter of the school year.
Physical education and music classes for all students will meet on an alternating schedule all year.
Students may wish to join a performing music group. Choices include: chorus, beginning instrumentals, band, and introduction to orchestral strings or orchestra. General music communications will be assigned to those students who do not choose performing music.
