Works Cited - Examples
The list of sources you use in your research is often referred to as the bibliography. However, since originally this term meant "list of books", the term "Works Cited" or "Works Consulted" is used to reflect the wide range of information now available. The term "Works Consulted" is used when you are listing all the sources used in your research. The term "Works Cited" is used when you are listing the specific works you cite in the body of your paper. The format for listing the sources is the same for both. The works cited list is arranged alphabetically by author or by title if the author is not known. The first line of each entry starts at the left margin, with the subsequent lines indented 1/2 inch. The entire list is double-spaced. If there is more than one entry for an author, after the first entry, use three hyphens, followed by a period, then the title.
