Attendance and participation

Attendance will be taken daily in accordance with the LHS attendance policy. If you are absent, go to the “absent binder” in the classroom to see what was covered.  If you still have questions at that point, please see me. You will receive participation grades on a daily basis. Participation includes but is not limited to bringing your binder, notes, writing tool and any other necessities.  It also may include partner or group work or participation in a class discussion. Just keep in mind that anything you do in French class may be given a participation grade.

Binder

A binder is essential for French class.  Handouts and notes must be kept in order by date.  I will do a random notebook check several times a quarter.  You may have a section of a binder or a separate binder for French class.  You must bring your book and a writing tool to class everyday unless I tell you that you do not need it.

Speak French!

You will speak as much French as possible from day one even if you are just beginning to learn French.  Speaking a language is the best way to learn the language. The classroom wall will be a great resource during the first semester if you forget how to say something.  The walls will be covered with French questions, statements and expressions.  Use this resource!
