  1. HOMEWORK:  Due Tomorrow
    1. Read the poems “To My Dear and Loving Husband” and “Upon the Burning of Our House” that were given to you.
    2. Please use the knowledge you acquired from your readings today to analyze and understand the poems.  You need to make annotations in the margins about what the poems mean, what kinds of religious references she makes, how who she is and what she endured influenced her writing, etc.
    3. Write a brief paragraph for EACH poem explaining what you think each poem means based on your annotations.

This is worth 20 points.  You will only get complete credit if I can see that you took the time and thought needed to analyze the poems and you used the knowledge of the history to write your annotations and paragraphs.
